Bad allocation fatal error
Keep getting a Bad Allocation fatal error. Have quite a few sheets but not really doing anything complicated, just a few Sum calculations. Seems to happen intermittently after a few cut and pastes. (See attached)

Try the LibreOffice while the new version of the AOO will be published.

Was this “bad allocation” issue resolved with version 4.1.4?
You can try it…
I never got such error message either AOO nor LO. The original poster not uploaded any sample file to reproduce the error…
I can not reproduce the error without a specific sample file.

Just realised I am using an out-of-date version thanks to the check for updates option being broken.
Installed 4.1.6, opened a .ods file, deleted a few sheets, then i think the auto-save kicked in and it sat there for a minute then bang

I am running 4.1.7 on Windows 10. I have uninstalled, ran updates, system diagnostics, reinstalled several times hoping that would stop the crashing of CAL. Please, please, please advise. I’ve read forums, tried other suggestions. I see that this error has been an issue for a long time, but the previous update of OpenOffice is when the problem started for me.
I appreciate any new tips.

Have you tried starting Windows in Safe Mode? Does OpenOffice Calc run OK when Windows is in Safe Mode?

Thank you. That’s the one simple test I didn’t think about. After reading about how people were saying things went hinky after a Win 10 update, I looked into how Windows stores pieces of what you’re working on (allocates) that has nothing to do with the program save. As I explored my system, it looks like something that’s definitely plausible, but I ran into a dead end with it. More accurately, I chickened out… killing my computer isn’t my goal . I will try working Calc in Safe Mode the next time the issue comes up.

Increase the window size step by step and watch your vga temps permanently.

If it crashes, run at stock speeds as suggested before and retry.P.S.: When your system locks, does the display signal turn off after a time?
