I set up a server and my friend can’t join
When he tries through direct connect it says connection failed and when he searches the name it doesn’t show up. How do I fix this?
Have you read our FAQ/Wiki/#before-you-ask ?
Yes
Describe the bug
When making a clean BeamMP install, if you go into the multiplayer menu, you will see this:
This makes the game unplayable (Unless using the workaround at the bottom)
To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:
- Clean uninstall BeamMP, either remove manually left-over folders or use Revo Uninstaller
- Install BeamMP client from the website
- Launch BeamMP
- Go to multiplayer
Expected behavior
When you should normally see the window telling you about ToS and Eula that you need to accept, after you accept them you get a prompt to connect your BeamMP account.
Screenshots
Desktop (please complete the following information):
- Windows + 11
- Browser (If applicable): Edge
Additional context
There is a workaround to this, when seing the message about “The game is not connected to the launcher!…” you can still see the logout button so here is the workaround:
- Click logout
Clicking logout will send you to the logging page while bypassing the ToS and Eula. - Connect your BeamMP account or click Play as a guest
Wait a bit and you should now see the server page and you are free to connect.
This is the workaround I need to use to play but it as a major problem, you need to redo this each time you Lua reloads (Game launch or when quitting a server).

Delete all beammp files. Both in appdata and documents, then launch beam in safe mode and delete it from the ingame repo.

Could you please give a detailed list of instructions? My data is deleted, but still getting the same error.

Launch your game onto safemode, then select Mod manager tab.
Select Open mod folder then delete Beammp related folders.
Delete also Beammp folders into C:Users***AppDataRoaming
Worked for me 🙂
Thank you very much. got it working.
I did all of that and my beam.ng still does not work after that.

Hi 🙂 love BeamMP, I’d like to help with whatever I can. I found this issue.
I’m using BeamMP 1.80.95.
When I tried to join a server, I got the Socket Closed Code 3 error. I already have BeamNG and BeamMP Launcher allowed on Windows Defender Firewall, so I tried again.
On the second try, I couldn’t connect to the server. It told me “invalid key file, please restart the game”.
So I did. Now when I try to connect to that server for the third time, BeamMP tells me I’m already playing on the server. See below:
And I also got Socket Closed Code 3 again (on the third try). Does anyone know how to fix this issue?
Thank you very much.
