I cannot figure out what the actual problem and how to fix it actually?

One more thing I have investigated is that pgagent[6793]: *** Caught unhandled unknown exception; terminating can be invoked by incorrect connection termination…

A little bit late to answering this, but I ran into the same issues when using pgAgent, and it caused nothing but frustration. I even tried to dig into the source to fix it, but just trying to get it to compile on my server was a total nightmare due to the dependencies it requires (for no good reason).

So with that in mind, I decided to write a new job scheduler for Postgres as a drop in replacement for pgAgent. It’s called jpgAgent, and i’ve been using it at my company for a couple months now with no issues at all. Much more stable now that we’re using jpgAgent, don’t have to worry about the agent just stopping on us randomly and jobs not getting run as they should, where as previously that was a common problem.

Anyways, hope it helps you out.

@xiiviii

hi,

been using toucan since 2012 however after migrating to win 10, the only functional toucan on my win 10 (1809) is version 3.1 – any build above that gives a warning msg as indicated in the title (*** caught unhandled unknown exception; terminating)

do not know what dll’s missing and no toucan updates worked

Please advise or investigate
Thank you in advance!

toucan

@alex-ter

Hmm, that’s interesting (and indeed the message is quite non-informative) – I test each release on Windows 10 and Windows 7 and haven’t seen anything like this and no one reported this as well. So let’s see what could this be.

Several questions to understand the situation better:

  1. Which version of PortableApps framework application do you have? (Portableapps app -> Help -> About)
  2. Could you please post the listing of the <your PA installation root>PortableAppsToucanAppToucan directory, with filenames and file modification times?

In the meanwhile I’ll see if by any chance my test VM doesn’t have namely 1809 and that makes a difference.

@alex-ter

One clarification – for the second part, please update the application first to the latest release, 3.1.7.

+one more thing, please check Windows Event Log, Applications section to see if there’s anything more useful around the time when the app fails.

@xiiviii

hi alex-ter,

updated win 10 to v1903 last night and problems just went away
not sure what caused it but glad the newest release 3.1.7 works

thanks for your time!

best

@alex-ter

That’s interesting and thanks for reporting back!

AdwCleaner v7.0.1.0 is crashing on me.  It is giving me the message “*** Caught unhandled unknown exception, terminating” when trying to clean POP.Optional.Legacy and PUP.Adware.Heuristic elements.   I use Windows 7 SP1.

I had the same issue today after being auto directed to upgrade to new version from adwcleaner_7.0.0.0 to adwcleaner_7.0.1.0 . Caught unhandled unknown exception, terminating” when trying to clean 4 PUP.Adware.Heuristic elements

I just uninstalled the program,  deleted the file from folder, then downloaded again  directly from the Malwarebytes web site . Re-run the exe. identified the 4 PUP.Adware.Heuristic elements. selected clean and 4 PUP.Adware.Heuristic elements were deleted . Program worked as it should. No more error message or self terminating .

Goodluck

Ocfive –

I’ve never had to install/uninstall AdwCleaner.  When I click the file it automatically opens and tells me to select “Run”.  I deleted v7.0.1 from my PC and went to MalwareBytes to install it takes me to ToolsLib to download.  I originally downloaded it from Bleeping Computers.  Neither one is working for me.  I still get the “*** Caught unhandled unknown exception, terminating” when trying to clean.

I saw the last post on 8/4/17 about fr33tux finding the error and fixing it – but that it was in beta.  I didn’t see a post after that.

I guess I will wait for the fix to be released.

Coco – v7.0.2.0 worked without errors.  I did my normal cleanup process – run CCleaner, Malwarebytes, SuperAntiSpyware, JRT, and then AdwCleaner.   I had deleted some of the empty folders that v7.0.1.0 found but couldn’t clean, but v7.0.2.0 cleaned everything else.   Thanks.

Piece of crap still doesnt work. I go to my add and remove in my computer but I do not see malwarebytes there.

I have downloaded the new 7.0.1 and the 7.0.2 and they both come up with the same error.  Caught unhandled unknown exception; terminating

anyone know how to fix this?

Glad I’m not paying for this software as it obviously does not work.

I’m using windows 7

I have the same issue.

AdwCleaner v7.0.1.0 is crashing on me.  It is giving me the message “*** Caught unhandled unknown exception, terminating” when trying to clean POP.Optional.Legacy and PUP.Adware.Heuristic elements.   I use Windows 7 SP1. with latest patches.

I tried the v7.0.2.0 version but that came up with the message that i am using an outdated version at first, then it seems to run.

OK so I went into my PC c Drive and found the folder for malwarebytes.

I deleted the folder.

I then downloaded the newest version of malwarebytes or adwarebytes what ever the hell it is called and it worked fine for me.

I am getting the same message   “*** Caught unhandled unknown exception, terminating”   when trying to get the Adw cleaner to clean. What is the problem with it? I haven’t ever had any problems with it working before.

I closed all programs, brought up My Computer, clicked on C:  searched for ADwCleaner and delete all results., emptied the Recycle Bin, googled Malwarebyte, downloaded ADwCleaner , opened & installed the file and it worked fine. I think the .txt directory gets too full and will not accept new files so it shuts down. Hope this works for you!!
