Apparently this happens on other RE games, like 6, but revelations and 4 were fine

this happens whenever I try to trigger it to full screen. Anyone had any issue with an error like this?

The same happened to me, so i needed to force it to start with full screen (changing that variable). Problem solved.

Oh hey never mind guy. It was a hidden folder. I found it.

C:UsersYOURPCNAMEHEREAppDataLocalCAPCOMResident Evil — biohazard@HD REMASTER

C:Users—Once in this file, right click, uncheck Hidden, and you’ll see all the hidden folders. You need admin permission though.

do you have ultra-widescreen or some modern 4K resolution? try to change desktop/OS resolution to something small like 1280×720 and run the game this way. if it worked then one-by-one try increasing a resolution until you hit a bottleneck

also game doesn’t work right with certain videocard ports. if you have DVI — try to change to HDMI and vice-versa

double-also, try Maluc’s patch. it fixes a ton of issues in the game:

2560x1440p 144Hz Monitor

DirectX 9 in re5 doesn’t support wide screen/monitor, if you wana still use it, you need change game DirectX to 10 by adding acitation-key.
But you will be limmited on Singleplayer or Local Co-Op.

Maluc patch will Not do anything with this.
But for bugfixes i recomend it.
+ It will give more options settings in config file.

Anyone else having this issues? Fatal error. ERR09 : Unsupported function.

EDIT: Finally fixed it, turns out MSi Afterburner is causing the error.

Example of the destination folder: C:UsersnerofAppDataLocalCAPCOMULTIMATE MARVEL VS. CAPCOM 3 and open the config file

nerof is my name on my computer, choose your name in the folder.

Guys i was having the same issue, if you have msi afterburner and rivatuner installed or even any other overlay app will cause the game to crash with ERR09 : Unsupported function.

I have MSI and RIVA, do I have to uninstall them to be able to make this change? Or just close while playing?

so anyone knows how fix it?

the problem with me is when i choose the 1080p resolution the game crashed and appear that error. so i cant change the resolution ( its in 720p)

It has something to do with directX I suppose. A bug or bad written line in the games code that creates this error.

It’s a “The Lone Wolf” Mod if this helps My PC Specs: – WIN 7 – GeForce GT 640 – Intel Core i5-2320 (CPU @ 3,00 GHz) – 8,00 GB RAM all drivers are up to date.
