Error cannot find lods ini for car assetto corsa как исправить

0 car mods working > missing lods.ini – no fix?

the amount of cars to choose from in the game isn’t very fantastic imo, therefore seeking into the modding community for an answer for my thirst.

i’ve tried to launch >10 car mods and have not gotten a single one working, most of which are getting “Can’t find lods.ini for …” error messages.

been searching the webs but seems like the community has died out or im the only one.

tried to launch with cars in both DocumentsAssetto Corsacontentcars and
C:Program Files (x86)Steamsteamappscommonassettocorsacontentcars

Getting ‘: Error cannot find lods.ini for car’ error. Help?

Hello everyone. I’ve never had any issue whatsoever with Assetto Corsa crashing or malfunctioning in any way, but today I was stumped to find out I can no longer start any kind of event. I’ve played the game just fine yesterday and even today I’ve still succesfully started a race.

I have no idea if this is related, but it all started when I went to create a ‘special event’ to play. I’ve done this before and I have a couple others in the respective folder, but when I went to start my new event, I was greeted with this error message. I figured I must have done something wrong, but the error is not going away.

When I start any other kind of event however, be it a practice, race, another ‘special event’, etc, I’m not greeted with an error at all, but the game will try to open up acs.exe to start the event, yet instantly closes it and returns to the main menu without showing any error.

I already tried:

  • removing the ‘special event’

  • verifying game integrity through Steam (see result)

  • restarting my computer

… but none of this changes anything at all.

If you think it helps to take a look at the event I was working on, you can check it here.

I hope someone out there knows how I can get this fixed, because I really don’t want to reinstall the game. I have a lot of mods and not all of them I would be able to re-accquire.

Content manager ….. simple solution.

  • #4

Hi, so whats up whit this lods.ini failure?

Please Stop This

  • #5

look at the file (datalods.ini, if you dont have it, its packed in “data.acd”)
it references to .kn5-files in the cars directory, if there are some ref’s to files that dont exist, you get this error
shorten it to have only files that exist, and maybe change
IN=0
OUT=1000
values if you only have one file to reference…
but beware, if it only has one .kn5, then it will tank your performance, as this is there to make it perform better

  • #6

i have this problem with every race i want to join on SRS and im using cm

  • #7

Why is Assetto corso the only mod that has this problem? I never see this in any other mod or game.
And BTW you still see it with ssetto corsa Content Manager load.

  • #8

It’s just an AC-specific filename, every game will crash if you are missing necessary files.

the files you have the car-folder must match the content in “LODS.INI”

(note: file is in “data” folder, if you only have the file “data.acd”, you first have to unpack it, here is how:

“race cancelled” screen

hi i recently got assetto corsa and got some mods and when i try to use cars with tyre version 10 it will start to load then say ‘ race cancelled’. All of my other mods that don’t have version 10 tyres work fine. Is they any way to fix this?

a valid “LODS.INI” for the case in the screenshot could also be this:

[COCKPIT_HR]
DISTANCE_SWITCH=6

[LOD_0]
FILE=ford_transit.kn5
IN=0
OUT=2000

if the file has invalid/missing file-names in it, remove those sections and adjust OUT values from previous section

yeah same issue happened to me when i try to add cars in assetto corsa it’s just a waste of time saying this sh*t

  • #12

Hey. I have the same issue, but only with the rss formula hybrid 2020. And when I go into, the exact same way you went in, I dont have any LOD files that you have. It is ONLY in the formula hybrid. In every other car I have these LOD files..

Same issue here…. been trying for a couple of hours to get the F1 cars going, but still the same message… ‘cannot find lods.ini for car …’

Also no lod files to be found in the RSS folder… nor a data.acd. Any solutions from anyone?

Thanks & Cheers

If the file’s not there, the solution is try installing it again.

Thanks for replying!

When I unzip/unrar the SFF skinpack file, there are only 3 folders in this map (content):

Cars
Driver
Texture

Then after carefully following the mentioned steps on how to install/copy paste and use content manager, I only have 2 folders in the onearmbandit mentioned folder:

1630008341465.png

So, probably I am doing something wrong here…. Or am i just missing some (base) file here?

  • #17

Dude, you are missing something pretty important: the car. You have installed car skins but you don’t have the actual car.

Is anyone else having issues with 3rd party cars and tracks not running on Assetto Corsa? I keep reading about tracks being released and modded cars so I loaded the corvette and mid ohio track and it shows up in the sim, i can look st the vette and the track shows up in the track list but neither will run.

I tried the vette with a track included in AC and I get a “.ini” file load error. I then tried a car supplied with AC on mid ohio and get a load error with it.

I contacted AC support but because its 3rd party files they wont help or comment. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Hey AussieStig,

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried it with no luck. I unzipped a track and tried it again but the following error comes up, “ACS.EXE” midohioch:track not found.

When I tried running the corvette the following error comes up, “corvette_dp_hd:error cannot find lods.ini for car corvette_dp_hd.

I find it weird that I seem to be the only one with the problem. Thanks anyway!

Try just dragging mid_ohio (or whatever folder is the one that can be sen before a the ai, ui and those folders show up) to assetto corsa / content / tracks.

If this doesn’t work, see this: www.racedepartment.com/threads/how-to-prevent-add-on-tracks-from-crashing.87262/

Thanks J.A.R.V.I.S. I tried dragging the folders. I changed the ini file and still get the same errors. I guess the next thing will be to uninstall and try again.

I use 7z to open and view any downloaded zip or rar files, then I drag and drop the folders from within 7z to the correct locations.

I’m using Windows 7 (64bit).

I do this for GTR2, Race 07, and Assetto Corsa. So far, no problems.

Im running Windows 8.1. I use Winzip evaluation version 17 I think it is. Everything shows up in AC, I can pick the track or car, its when I click start that it crashes.

Could you upload the folder of the car to let’s say Mediafire? I’ll see if there are any problems with it. I knew someone who had that problem as well but it was just an UI issue for him….

I tried the recently released Cobra 427…..my dream car……wont run either. I uninstalled AC……not impressed with it at all. This is the reason i got out of PC gaming years ago, all the hype, and always seemed my setup needed to be tweaked…….I dont have the patience to tweak…..

Thanks for the help. Wasted my money on AC……should have put it towards content in iRacing.

I had a weird problem that was a result of using an outdated version of WinRAR.  The files would be extracted but they weren’t readable by AC.  Once I downloaded the new version of WinRAR the extracted files worked great.

Well I tried uninstalling AC. Didn’t work.  I tried unzipping the files with WinRar and 7Zip with no luck.  The actual error is as follows:

shelby_cobra:error cannot find lods.ini for car shelby_cobra.

Thanks again.

Let me go and upload my files that work perfectly to MediaFire. Will see if that does anything. Because all that it seems to be is that a lods.ini file is missing.

Am I the only one who removes the higher (and emtpy) folders?

By that I mean you often download a mod that’s in a folder structure like: Monaco –> Monaco –> Monaco — (Folders with content)

In that example, I will pull the third Monaco folder and move that into the appropriate mod location.

I’m not sure why I started doing this. Maybe it was because having empty folders in the beginning caused some old sim content to load (Think it was rfactor 1 that started me on this habit).

I was going to suggest this was the issue, but I’m not sure anyone else does this.

I always take the last one. Just makes everything much neater if I want to go and edit them.

J.A.R.V.I.S,

I loaded the files and I still get the same error missing lod file.

Could you upload your Program Files x86 steam SteamApps common assettocorsa content cars – and all the 3 Shelby Cobra files here. I just want to compare them to mine as this is an extremely strange problem.
