Глина — это материал, добываемый из глиняного блока. Из одного блока выпадает 4 кусочка глины. Текстура блока похожа на песок, только цвета камня (светло-серая). Она добавлена в версии 1.0.11 (Secret Friday Update 6) 25 июля 2010.
Местонахождение
Залежи глины можно найти под водой, под песком и на поверхности, недалеко от воды, на песчаном пляже. Глину можно выкопать любым инструментом или рукой, но лопатой быстрее всего.
Использование
Из 4 кусочков глины можно скрафтить обратно глиняный блок. Также глиняные шарики можно обжечь в печи и получить кирпичи, а из них сделать кирпичные блоки.

Поиск глины
После того как инструменты и необходимое зелье будет готово, можно приступать к поиску глины.
Месторождения глины бывают в четырех местах:
- Под небольшими водоемами (оазисами),
- Озерах,
- Реках разделяющих разные биомы,
- В морях.
- Чтобы добыть глину в оазисах вам необязательно использовать водное дыхание. Достаточно погрузится в воду, не опуская голову, и начать рыть при помощи лопаты. Глина выглядит как песок, именно поэтому обнаружить ее довольно сложно. Отличием от песка является сероватый однородный цвет глины сравнимый с цветом снега. Разломав блок глины, из него выпадет четыре шарика, которые и нужно собрать. В среднем в таком месторождении можно найти от 10 до 20 блоков глины.
- В озерах и водоемах добыть глину будет сложнее, но ее там определенно больше. Просто погружайтесь в воду, ломайте блоки, собирайте шарики глины и всплывайте для пополнения воздуха. Таким образом, можно добыть более 30 блоков глины.
- В морях сосредоточены самые большие запасы глины, но чтобы ее добыть понадобится смекалка. Постоянные погружения в воду не принесут необходимого результата, и единственным решением будет построить морскую базу на глубине. Для этого запаситесь блоками земли или камня и постройте дом размером 5×5. После этого вы можете вырыть тоннель под землей и беспрепятственно собирать глину с глубины. Запасы глины в морях практически не ограничены.

Pypsik 9 лет назад Глину в игре Майнкрафт можно найти под водой в неглубоких водоёмах, на их поверхностях или под слоем песка примерно в 2-4 блока. Для удобства поиска глины лучше пользоваться лодкой (плавать вдоль берега) и лопатой. Но можно и без них.

Natural generation
Clay generates in large quantities on the floors of ponds in lush caves.
Clay can also generate in lush caves in the form of blobs. Clay attempts to generate 46 times per chunk in blobs of size 0-160, at any height. Clay can replace stone, diorite, andesite, granite, deepslate, and tuff.
Clay is found underwater in swamps, beaches, oceans, and at the bottoms of rivers and lakes in shallow, crystal-shaped disks, disregarding adjacency to other types of blocks.
Clay generates in mason houses in plains, savanna, and desert villages, and under fisher cottages in taiga villages.

In Java Edition, when the player has the Hero of the Village status effect, a mason villager might throw that player a clay block as a gift.
Post-generation
If mud is placed above a block with a pointed dripstone underneath, the mud eventually turns into clay, although the dripstone does not deposit any water into a cauldron.

Trivia
- In real life, clay can actually be reddish-brown, not just gray, and can be often found under the surface and away from sand. This color is reflected in the appearance of terracotta, bricks, and flower pots.
