    Утверждение.

        [cos {60^o} = frac{1}{2}]

    Доказательство:

    kosinus 60

    Рассмотрим прямоугольный треугольник ABC, один из острых углов которого равен 60 градусам:

    ∠C=90º, ∠A=60º.

    Так как сумма острых углов прямоугольного треугольника равна 90º, то

    ∠B=90º-∠A=30º.

    Так как катет, лежащий против угла в 30º, равен половине гипотенузы, то

        [AC = frac{1}{2}AB.]

    Пусть AC=a, тогда AB=2a.

    По определению косинуса острого угла прямоугольного треугольника,

        [cos angle A = frac{{AC}}{{AB}}.]

    Отсюда,

        [cos {60^o} = frac{a}{{2a}} = frac{1}{2}.]

    Что и требовалось доказать.

    Переводя 60 градусов в радианы,

        [{60^o} = frac{pi }{3},]

    получаем значение косинуса пи на три:

        [cos frac{pi }{3} = frac{1}{2}.]
