Как найти папку steam на mac

Locating Steam files on mac

I’m looking for some game files to try and fix a bug but when I look for Steam in ~/Library/ApplicationSupport~ I can’t find it.
Can anyone help me with where else to look, or at least tell me why they aren’t there?

Thanks!

go to go on your mac and press on go to folder and enter the name

Yeah that doesn’t work; nothing comes up.

Got to — and press the Option-key: Library will be seen.

Another way to access files on a mac with steam is to click on your game in steam and bring up the menu under that game, go to properties, and from there go to the ‘browse local files’ it will bring up whats under steam in that way too.

Go to Finder and then press at the same time the keys ⇧⌘G
Put: ~/Library/Application Support/Steam/

Double click on your startup disk
Double click Users
Double click your user name
If Library is not shown right click and choose Show View Options
Make sure Show Library File is checked
Close Show View Options
Double click Library
Double click Applications Support
Double click Colossal Order
Double click Cities_Skylines
or
in Applications Support
Double click Steam
or
in Library
Double click Preferences
unity.Colossal Order.Cities/ Skylines.plist
unity.Colossal_Order.Cities/_Skylines.plist
or
in Saved Application State
com.valvesoftware.steam.savedState
unity.Colossal Order.Cities/ Skylines.savedState
unity.Colossal_Order.Cities/_Skylines.savedState
… it’s all I know.

Im having the same problem, the steam file dissapeared from the computer. I cant find it anywhere I have searched everywhere and no luck. However at one point i thought that if i delete steam and then reinstall it the file would b added back so first i went to Applications to delete it and when i tried to move it to the trash I got a promt that said Steam still had files in the place it dissapeared from. But therre they were somhow just not accessible, It gave me an option to “unhide” them so i did and when i went back they were gone again… And now it wont give me an option to “unhide” them again. they were supposed to go rightback where they were originally but i have looked all over the place again and no luck… :c I have no idea what to try now to uncover the darn thing..

Update about this location from Valve, today. They received obviously many complaints about the Documents folder, so they are changing that soon.

(…) As soon as the feature to help users
uninstall Steam completely when they
drag it to the Trash is complete, we
will be moving the game content folder
into “~/Library/Application
Support/Steam”
.

Yea you delete OSX then install Windows.

Wait, what? I heard about the Netflix thing but how does the music thing work? You get partial songs or what? – Fade2Scrub420

Assuming you’re running 10.7 or 10.8, Apple did something silly and made the Library folder hidden by default. I forget the exact command, but you need to open Terminal and enter a certain command to make the folder visible again. I think the command is

chflags -nohidden ~/Users/Library/

Or something. Look it up, it’s really simple, I’m just not sure what the actual command is. From there, the Steam folder is in /Uders/[Your Username]/Library/Application Support/Steam. However, given the error you’re experiencing, I’d guess that a better bet of solving this issue would be verifying the integrity of the game cache (right click [control + click by default] on the game’s title in your Steam library > Properties > Local Files > Verify Integrity of Game Cache) or fully reinstalling the game. Regardless of that, making your Library folder not hidden anymore is a good thing to do, so you can install mods and generally look around at the inner workings of stuff. And hey, after switching to a Windows desktop after years of using Macs, I could say Windows is just as confusing 😛

I believe it’s for the same reason Windows freaks out when you go into the System32 folder – mess with the wrong file and your computer starts having issues.

I give up, I guess I’m never playing TF2 again. Thanks, Apple.

Specifically asking about Mac OSX Sierra.

(Not the game application location.)

Save game storage location varies by game. The most common locations are ~/Library/Application Support/ and ~/Documents/. If it’s not in either of those locations, your best bet will be to look on PC Gaming Wiki for the particular game you’re concerned with: http://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Category:OS_X
