The log on as a service user right allows accounts to start or run services on a Windows machine. By default, and due to security reasons, services can only be configured to run under the Local System, Local Service or Network Service accounts which have a built-in right to log on as a service. Any other user account that requires to run a service must be assigned this right.
When installing Parallels® Remote Application Server (RAS), if the user that is logged on does not have sufficient privileges to install system services, the following error may appear:
“Service ‘RAS RD Session Host Agent’ (RAS RD Session Host Agent) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to install system services”.
Resolution
- Run gpedit.msc.
- Navigate to Computer Configuration > Windows Settings > Security Settings > Local Policies >User Rights Assignment.
- In the details pane, double-click Log on as a service.
- Click Add User or Group… and add the account to the list of accounts that have the Log on as a service right. Once you have selected the user, click OK.
- Click OK and close the policy editor.
Supported on
RAS RD Session Host Agent is supported on the following operating systems:
- Windows Server 2019
- Windows Server 2016
- Windows Server 2012 R2
- Windows Server 2012
- Windows Server 2008 R2
- Windows Server 2008

I’m using Wix installer. When I run installer I get this error:
I’m logged as administrator. I also tried create anotherone user.
So I tried:
1| I add my user “Administrator” to place “Log on as a service”
2| I checked my Net.Tcp Port Sharing Service if is running
3| I get my SID
4| I added to SMSvcHost.exe.config section with my SID.
Check “My administrator sid”

5| I edit all SMSvcHost.exe.config for sure:

C:WindowsMicrosoft.NETFrameworkv4.0.30319
C:WindowsMicrosoft.NETFramework64v3.0Windows Communication Foundation
C:WindowsMicrosoft.NETFramework64v4.0.30319
6| Restart = Net.Tcp Port Sharing Service
7| When I got that warning message during instalation, I didn’t cancel, I tried also run service from path where files are installed and via cmd prompt I run manualy and it’s run.
8| But my instalator can’t finish instalation. Everytime I got that sentense: “Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services.” I can only cancel instalation and instalation roll back and delete all files.
ANY HELP PLEASE? 5 DAYS I’M GOING AROUND THIS WITHOUT RESULT. I TESTED THAT ON 2 DIFERRENT VIRTUAL MACHINES WITH WINDOWS SERVER X64 AND WINDOWS 8 X64.

Error 1920.Service MSMFramework (MSMFramework) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services при установке MegaRAID Storage Manager.
Error 1920.Service MSMFramework (MSMFramework) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services
Info 2835.The control ErrorIcon was not found on dialog SetupError.
Error 1920.Service MSMFramework (MSMFramework) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services.

Hi Everyone
I have a msi package which I was need to be modified in a way that it will install as unprivilege user so I modified it. I took following steps
1. Add property in Property table (MSIINSTALLPERUSER
1)2. Edit ALLUSER value to 2 in property table
3. In Registry table change Root column value to -1
Now package can be installed as unpriviliged user and it is not calling UAC for Administrator Password but after some progress of installation eventually a pop up generate and ask for “Service
‘PRODUCTNAME Service’ (PRODUCTNAME Service) could not be installed. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to install system services” I assume that it is a permission issue so I install it using administrator account but
same pop up come again. I dont know how to rectify this problem. Please help me out of this

Even if you are administrator on your system, you don’t usually run with admin privileges.
If you run as admin or you don’t make that change you made and the package is forced to run as administrator then your problem would go away.
It seems your requirement to be able to install as a non admin user is incompatible with the requirements of your product.
Maybe you should reconsider this requirement.
Seeing as it’s going to stop you installing your software at all.
